Yes, that is exactly what it looks like. Isabella had her eureka moment and has finally figured out how to open and close her myoelectic prosthetic hand to grasp objects (she has been working on it since late February 2010). It’s pretty amazing. She often tries to pick up her food this way (she learned to use her hand at the table), but her hand’s grasp is so strong and forceful that it usually breaks her food to bits (hahaha). We are very proud of her for achieving this, and of course we know that she still has much practice to do before she masters its use. But I don’t think there’s anything this baby can’t do.
