This might have been the last birthday party that I throw for the twins together… I say it *might be* because I’m just not sure if I am quite ready to give up our big and fulfilling family-friend filled bashes for small age-mates only soirees. But just in case, I wanted to do this birthday up right. I wanted to be sure that my twins had a day that they would talk about for months and remember for years (who knows?) to come.
Since Toy Story 3 has been my children's universal favorite this year, we did a Woody, Jessie & Bullseye Western theme. And judging by their excitement and squeals of joy over everything even down to the the tiniest of details – their customized character outfits, the star (Woody) and cow-print (Jessie) balloons, the cake with all three character figurines atop it, the decorations, I would say we hit our mark… or our Bullseye as it were.
Camping food like Texas chili, hot dogs (or chili dogs), cornbread, strawberries, popcorn, brownies, and cake made up the menu.
Seventy of our family and closest friends came to celebrate with us. The weather was expected to be windy and cool, but it turned out to be a perfect park day… and basically, a perfect day overall. We felt so fortunate to have so many turn up to eat, play, love with us on this special day.
And just when you doubt the day the can possibly get any more fun, in walks our awesome nanny, Shanna, and her mom with their two miniature ponies for carriage rides and petting.
By the middle of the party, we had kids stacked on one another to ride in the carriage and a moving line behind them, which made for some tired ponies and some happy kids!
Make a wish!
Daddy organized the Tug of War challenges and team competitions. So fun!
Go Ari!!!
So worth it. :)
